En institutions auktoritet kan p\u00e5verkas av flera faktorer: dess historia, identitet, popularitet eller niv\u00e5er av allm\u00e4nhetens f\u00f6rtroende. En institutions befogenhet kan ocks\u00e5 f\u00f6r\u00e4ndras \u00f6ver tid. Den kan bli starkare \u2013 eller s\u00e5 kan den kollapsa.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

M\u00e5let med forskningen \u00e4r att unders\u00f6ka denna fr\u00e5ga genom att prata direkt med de m\u00e4nniskor vars \u00e5sikter formar institutionell auktoritet: politiska ledare, regeringstj\u00e4nstem\u00e4n och \u2013 viktigast av allt \u2013 vanliga m\u00e4nniskor.
